Quote from The Grammarist Source:
As a noun, capital refers to (1) a city that serves as a center of government, (2) wealth in the form of money or property, and (3) a capital letter. As an adjective, it means (1) principal, (2) involving financial assets, and (3) deserving of the death penalty. There are other definitions of capital, but these are the most commonly used ones.
Capitol has two very specific definitions (outside ancient Rome): (1) a U.S. state legislature building, and (2) the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. State capitols are located in the capital cities of U.S. states, and the Capitol is located in the capital city of the U.S. If you’re not talking about any of these capitol buildings, then the word you want is probably capital.
The Capitol building located in Washington, D.C. is spelled with a capital C, but state capitol buildings ordinarily don’t have the capital C (which is not to say that some writers don’t capitalize them anyway).
It is always nice to know when there is a difference.

There will no doubt be a very heated reaction to Trump's declaration.
Prophecy tells us that Jerusalem will be utterly destroyed. Perhaps we'll see it happen in the not too distant future.
Apparently Damascus is prophesied to suffer the same fate. The beating of the War Drums has been fairly constant for the past several years.

Where in the bible does it say that the governments will turn on the religions. Like the Dubs always say this will happen
by goingthruthemotions ini have not been here in a while, just trying to move on with my life all the while dealing with a very pimi brainwashed wife.. so the other day she started saying that we will have to go our own ways when things get worse with this world.
she has said this before because she believes that the government will turn on religion and the great and powerful wizards (guardians of doctrine g.o.d.
) will call everyone and tell them where to go.. thank god, (no pun intended) i have been out of the loop for such a long time.

Quote from Smiddy3:
Jehovah`s Witnesses assume that if BTG goes and destroys false religion then they will come after them ,however the Bible does not say that.
I agree. It's more like Babylon the Great will strive to stamp out Christianity as it establishes its Official Religion in the usual Babylonian and Roman fashion as before. The Cult of JW.Borg somehow have concocted the doctrine that they'll be the One True Worship remaining at that time. True Worship the JW.Borg is not, but if they're intending to be "the winner" then they may in fact be connected to Babylon the Great.
Their Doctrine and Dogma certainly are very much Babylonish.

by Jayk incan anyone give me a valid reason for it?
growing old is a drag.
the witnesses idea of ever lasting life, that you will come back to your most youthful state is such a bs answer..

WeatherLover,
Well said. Science has neither the skills nor the capabilities. But the Dynamic Duo and the Forces of Good do. As you wish shall be accomplished. And the really great thing is that everybody is included! Not one will be forgotten or left out.
We must of necessity experience the "sleep of death" on the way. But the inconvenience will be worth it.

I became aware of the witnesses while in high school. One of my classmates was a witness and was a pretty cool guy; he had a worldly girlfriend (a classmate), he had a car, he seemed really knowledgeable about the Bible and he was popular. He seemed very much like all of my other classmates who were Christian except that he was much more familiar with the Bible.
I expressed an interest in the religion and he sorta took me under his wing and introduced me to his family, invited me to visit the Kingdom Hall and provided transportation since I had no car and lived in a rural area. I was very positively impressed by the people in the congregation, the heavy use of the Bible in all discussions, talks and studies and also was comfortable with the young people in the congregation many of whom were my age and there were some really attractive young ladies there too.
I was "love-bombed" and fell under their "spell." Their very cleverly executed program of deception created the impression in my mind that they were exceptional Christians who took the Bible seriously.
At the same time, once my family discovered that I had joined them, they began to "oppose" what I had done and at every opportunity tried valiantly to "wake me up" to the possibility that the witnesses were a cult and weren't what they seemed. The pastor at the church I had previously attended met with me on several occasions to try to warn me, several of my schoolteachers also spoke with me numerous times to try to warn me, but I guess everyone here knows how that goes... It just stiffened my resolve to stay with the witnesses. At least for that time being.
Then I gradually began to notice things and slowly got the feeling that "something" was just not right. I began to have doubts and after about a year and a half just dropped out. The congregation by that time was well aware of the "opposition" I was experiencing so apparently they decided to let me be. I wasn't taking any chances though so joined the Navy to get away for a time to clear my head and decide what to do next.
My first impressions were very strong and very positive which set the "hook." After several months of association and meetings I began to realize that I didn't go along with many of their teachings. I was already baptized and considered to be a "witness" even though at that time (1957-1958) baptisms were much different than now and it was spontaneous at the assembly: no "candidacy" and no waiting - instant baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
My escape was much easier by several orders of magnitude that what most here have suffered. Even then, it took many years to unravel the level of indoctrination from my quite brief association. It was only after I retired from the Navy and associated with the witnesses once again to more thoroughly explore their teachings and procedures that I acquired an in depth comprehension of their fear based control tactics and finally saw what their game was.
Freedom is very, very nice. I have the utmost respect for all who've managed to escape from The Cult in far more difficult circumstances than my own very painless experience. Looking back, I am very grateful for all who "opposed" my joining the witnesses by taking the time to warn me and to plant those wonderful seeds of doubt while encouraging me to find out who they really are. It took many years but I never forgot their concerns.

The WTBorg Cult Inc. "Twisted Truth" version of the Good News is in reality the Doctrines of Men. It is pretty far removed from the Really Good News of The Word.
If God could save everyone - would He?
Once the Real Truth of the Word is understood all of the trauma inducing fear mind control dogma of the WTBorg Cult Inc. vanishes like a puff of smoke.

Quote from Coded Logic:
But my interest in these topics only exists as far as my JW ignorance. That is to say - how surprising it is how little I knew about a book I supposedly studied every single week.
And there you have the very core of the rotten apple. Amazing, isn't it?
The "secret" mission of the WTBorg Cult Inc.

Bible is good if we look for implied truth
by venus inthumbs-up gesture doesn’t covey much if we see only four fingers closed and thumb standing upward.
but if we look for the implied meaning, then it is a positive, informal signal indicating a job well done, and saying ‘keep it up.’.
similarly, biblical accounts don’t convey much if we see them as mere accounts.

Quote from Finkelstein:
Nonsensical statement, when Adam had Cain as a child he was already tossed out the Garden of Eden and became imperfect, therefore they were both imperfect.
It is presumed by many that both Adam and Eve were somehow "perfect" before their disobedience. That they then became "imperfect" as a consequence.
But, they hadn't yet eaten of the Tree of Life before their expulsion.
Before disobedience they obviously weren't immune to doubtful or sinful thoughts.
Perhaps, in the final analysis, they did just as they were expected to do. After all, Our Father couldn't have been surprised. He knows all things before they occur.
It is all an essential element of the Grand Plan. As is Satan and the disobedient Angels who followed him. As is our crazy World today before its conclusion.
Our lives may truly be just beginning. Death and Resurrection have a Grand Purpose.

Satan in Heaven
by pleaseresearch inthis has always baffled me.
that is why was satan and his demons allowed to be in heaven for so long after they split from god?.
if we did that then we are out of the congregation, members are shunned and also kicked out of families homes.

Actually, the answer is in The Word.
Satan and his gang are a necessity in the Grand Plan.
We need Satan and his cohorts to help us learn the meaning of bad.
Satan only does what he is permitted to do for our benefit.
It will all be very clear when the time comes to have our eyes opened and our ears unstopped.
For Our Father and His Son all things are possible. Everything is under control.
We must experience this Earthly travail in order to choose.
In the end all will be made good.
